Subject: Multi-cast, Mbone and vat with winsock ?
Hi winsockers,
I was just having a look at the developement system for Waterloo tcp/ip
stack. One of the addins is a set of routine for multicast access.
I was wondering if anyone has written a winsock version of vat. This would
have to be a multi-cast app since vat is a multicast setup.
The code I mentioned ( available form rutgers..... ) has default addresses
for testing a couple of test apps. I tried to ping one of these addresses and
got very quick response. I don't know what this means.
With all the talk about IVC being a two way conversation program I reakon
that a program that uses the emerging standard comms would be a good idea.
Any comment welcome,
Cheers,
Gerrit Thomson

Probably not! Most organisations as universities have their own news readers -
so there are thousands (?) of news readers around the world.
